On Thursday, October 15th, BitDefender had falsely detected as infected one of its own files (wslib.dll). This issue has been solved in the following hour. However in this interval it may be possible that BitDefender moved the file to the quarantine or completely erased it.


In this case you will either get an error message related to the Update module being unavailable or the product will not start upon computer startup..

If one of the above cases occurred on your computer, please follow the
steps listed below:

1. Restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking (reboot press F8 repeatedly until you
see a text menu. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.
The process will end with a confirmation message and you need to press YES to acknowledge);

2. Download this patch that recovers our file on a convenient location on your hard disk drive;

3. Go to the location where you saved the file and run the patch; After the patch finishes please reboot your PC.
