BitDefender releases the Downadup removal tool

BitDefender monitored the spreading and behavior of this worm since its first variant appeared. The fact that the second variant was creating much more damage than the first we continued our effort create a tool that will stop and remove the worm even if the computer is already infected. In order to help our corporate customers we also created a tool that can deploy the removal tool network wide without having major impact on the production.

The BitDefender team released on 13.03.2009 an unique Downadup Removal Tool for Consumer and Business Clients (Network Administrators).

 

Since this is the most serious threat in the past 10 years our team felt that we have to give it special attention by creating a microsite for everyone to download both versions of the tool:
