How the Master-Slave communication works
Summary:
This article describes the communication between servers when using a master-slave architecture
Detailed description:
Unlike the communication between the Management Server and its clients where the BitDefender Agent installed on the workstation synchronizes periodically with the server to receive new policies, the slave server does not need this communication component to synchronize with the server.
When you register the slave server to a master server, it will synchronize with the master on port 7073 (this is the default port, however it may be changed during the install wizard).
When you register the slave server you can use the master's IP address (in this case the master must have a static IP) or you can address it by name (in this case it may have a dynamically assigned IP).
