How to configure the radmin module

Issue:

The current article presents how to configure and use the radmin module present in BitDefender Security for Mail Servers (Linux). In this article we assume that the module has already been installed.

Solution:

In order to use the radmin module you need to change the password for the bitdefender user after installing BitDefender Security for Mail Servers (Linux):

# passwd bitdefender

Changing password for bitdefender.

New Password:

After changing the password for the bitdefender user you can proceed to access the interface:

  1. From the local machine: open a browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:8139 - type the password you just entered for the bitdefender user and the interface will allow you to see and change settings;
  2. From another machine:
    • Configure BitDefender to allow this type of connections:

      edit the /opt/BitDefender/etc/bdradmind.conf file and change the last two lines, from:

      allow=127.0.0.1

      bind=127.0.0.1

      to:

      allow=0.0.0.0

      bind=0.0.0.0

    • Restart radmin: # ./bdradmin restart
    • Now go to the station you want to connect from, open a browser and type http://[your_server_IP]:8139 and enter the password defined for the bitdefender user.
