This document describes how to scan with BitDefender from command prompt.
BitDefender antivirus includes bdc.exe, a command prompt component. It is recommended to use bdc.exe in operating modes where the services and the console are unavailable.
Although it is possbile to use bdc.exe in combination with Windows Task Scheduler for automatic full system scans, it is recommended to make use of BitDefender's own Scheduler module for scheduling automatic scan tasks.
To use bdc.exe:
Click , then . Select and click .
In the type the commands: %SystemDrive% cd %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Softwin\BitDefender Scan Server\ where
To obtain the local values for %SystemDrive% and %ProgramFiles% type the command: set
To disinfect the infected files type the command:
bdc /files /boot /arc /mail /log=bdcscan.log /fixed /disTo quarantine the infected files type the command:
bdc /files /boot /arc /mail /log=bdcscan.log /fixed /move /movesTo delete the infected files type the command:
bdc /files /boot /arc /mail /log=bdcscan.log /fixed /delA scan on all drives might take up to several hours. The command prompt antivirus scanner doesn't inform on the length of the scan process. At the end of the scan process, bdc.exe displays a summary and returns the command prompt. Open the file bdscan.log to see the analysis report.
To obtain a list of all the viruses detected by BitDefender type the command: bdc /vlist > vlist.txt
The full list of options available can be obtained with the command: bdc /help
